Senator Ben Bruce Reacts To Supreme Court Ruling On PDP Leadership; Sends Warning To PDP

Nigerian Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, popularly known as common sense senator, has reacted to the supreme court ruling declaring Senator Ahmed Makarfi as its authentic chairman.
The senator, representing Bayelsa East senatorial district has urged the Peoples Democratic Party to come together in unity following the ruling of the Supreme Court
In a statement released moments after the ruling, the “commonsense” senator said;
“We are happy this nightmare is over. There is no victor no vanquished. This is also, not a time to gloat.I call on all sides to stretch out a hand of brotherhood to rebuild our great party. Peace is better than war and unity, better than division.
This judgement is indeed a victory for democracy and together, the PDP can return to being a formidable alternative to the ruling government.”
The Supreme Court in
Abuja has ruled on the matter between Ali Modu-Sheriff, four others and
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
- The court sacked Sheriff as the national chairman of PDP and declared
Ahmed Makarfi the authentic leader of the party
- However Sheriff was absent in court during the judgement given by the
Supreme Court
The factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Ali Modu-Sheriff
was no where to be found at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, July 12,
during the ruling of the case between him, four others and the party.
While other notable PDP members where seen at the court Sheriff and most
of his followers were absent.
Some of the PDP leaders seen at the court include, former spokesperson
of the party Olisa Metuh, Uche Secondus, Rivers state governor Nyesom
Wike, his Ekiti state colleague Ayodele Fayose, former deputy speaker of
